Tagged!

Oooh, I've been tagged for the first time! My friend Dannon has blog tagged me so here it goes... This one is about my husband so this could be interesting. I would love to add some pictures of us together like Dannon did, but it's rare anyone takes a picture of me let alone one with both of us in it. Let's begin....

Husband's name: James Robert. As far as I know he's always gone by Jim. And of course James Robert also translates into Jim Bob which is the only way I've ever heard his younger brother Jon (aka "Jon boy") ask for Jim on the phone. They crack me up.

How long married: 9 years this past September.

How long we dated: Our first date was September 28, 1996. We got engaged December 23, 1998. So we dated 2+ years before getting engaged, engaged for about 8 months, we were just short of 3 years together before the wedding day.

How old is he: 37. We are about 5 1/2 months apart (he's older!).

Taller: Jim, thank God. At 5'10" I really appreciate his 6'2" frame. I can wear heals without feeling like a freak.

Who can sing the best: hahahahahahahaha, let me stop laughing long enough to type this... it's a dead tie. We are equally BAD!!!

Smarter: I'm going to go with Dannon on this, it depends on what the subject matter is. I like to think we both have some common sense as well.

Who does the laundry: Both of us. I have taken steps to eliminate a lot of the sorting work though. I have a lot of baskets in the laundry room: whites, darks, Jim's work clothes, pinks and reds (I have a daughter and 2 Husker fans in the house, it's a load unto itself), and one basket labeled "things Jim is not to touch" (hand washing, things that cannot go in the dryer, etc.). We are both good at getting the clothes washed, folding and putting away is another story...

Paying the bills: that one would fall on me. I would love to hand it over, but truthfully I would probably go crazy not knowing what he was doing, if the bills were paid on time, etc.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?: I'm looking at this one from the foot of the bed and that would be Jim. Oddly, I don't think either of us had to "change sides" to accomadate the other. Worked out well. :)

Mows the lawn: Jim. Don't even get me started on the new zero turn radius, 52" deck riding mower we NEEDED to get this year... in the past he has tried to get me to help with this and spent the whole time watching me and "correcting" how I was doing it. I handed this chore back to him. If he attempts to tell me that I need to help do this again I'm going to mow a big K-S-U through the yard...

Cooks dinner: for the most part me.

First to admit they are wrong: I would say probably Jim in most cases. The little things are no problem for me, but admittedly, with the big things, it's usually Jim.

Who kissed first: I would say Jim kissed me first. The story is kind of funny and I'll try to keep it short. My friends and I had a bar we went to weekly back then and Jim had recently moved to town, broke up with a girlfriend, and was going out by himself. My friend Tracy knew him since the ex-girlfriend is her sister in law. He had been coming around for a few weeks at the bar and would stop and talk to us, dance with us, drink a beer with us, etc. Of course after several weeks of this I had a bit of a crush on him. For some reason one night after he danced with me he held onto my hand when we left the dance floor. And kept holding it. Then eventually leaned over and unexpectedly kissed me. Then the funny part: he follows with "We should try this sober. You want to go out this weekend?" How romantic, huh? :)

Who wears the pants: Again, we have a split. We try to do decision making for big stuff together, but for little things we each have our own areas of seniority. I decide what we get at the grocery store, how the bills get paid month to month, he's in charge about the cars and such. Truthfully, between his 50+ hours a week job, my 2 jobs and school, and kids we have to do things together or things woud fall apart!

Alright, I finished my first tag. Since I only have a couple of friends I know that blog (I am going to tag my friend Michelle (Dannon's sister). Hint to the rest of you reading.... START A BLOG! :)
